Two private clinics linked to syndicate selling babies

SERDANG: Selangor police have identified two private clinics suspected of being linked to a syndicate selling babies which they smashed in an operation code-named ‘Ops Kasih’ in Klang recently.Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the two clinics were located in Selayang and Klang.

“The police will record statements from the doctors and officers at the clinics soon,” he said at a gathering of the people with the police, here yesterday.

In the  operation launched early this month, Selangor police uncovered a baby-selling activity after arresting nine people, including the mastermind and four buyers of the babies in the Banting, Klang and Kajang areas.

So far, the police have saved 10 babies, aged between two weeks and nine months, as well as a three-year-old toddler.

A woman and her two daughters have been charged in court with selling three babies linked to the syndicate. — Bernama
