KUCHING: A young housewife fell victim to a prank call from a suspected pervert who got her to remove all her clothing over the phone.
The incident was said to have happened on Thursday when the 20-something woman from Matang area received a call at home around noon from a man claiming to be a gynaecologist.
The ‘doctor’ informed the housewife that he had obtained her medical records from a government clinic and needed to do a medical examination over the telephone, adding that their conversation would be recorded by a nurse with him.
Not suspecting anything peculiar, the woman did as she was told by the phony doctor and removed all her clothing before inserting her finger into her private part.
The prank call would probably have gone on longer had the woman’s husband not stumbled on his wife in this strange situation.
He immediately took over the call and spoke to the ‘doctor’, asking for a personal meeting to verify his identity.
The caller refused and hung up, leading to the housewife to suspect she had been fooled by a pervert masquerading as a doctor.
A police report of the incident has been lodged.
