SIBU: A 16-year-old girl lodged a police report, claiming rape by a man she knew as ‘Uncle’, who was supposed to send her home.
The incident was believed to have happened on the evening of the first day of the New Year.
Earlier, the suspect, in his 40s, came to the victim’s house in Engkalat which is about 25 minutes’ journey from the town centre.
According to the victim, the suspect who came riding on his motorcycle had invited her to go with him to the town centre.
The victim agreed to go with the suspect as she did not suspect anything bad.
The victim said at first the suspect invited her to go to his brother’s house for a drinking session.
Around 5pm, the suspect, supposed to send the victim home, brought her to a bush in Rantau Panjang Road where he raped her in a nearby hut.
The police who received the report are investigating.
