According to its business development manager Maxine Ho, the objective of the tour is to bring technology closer to the community at different parts of rural Sarawak.

“Our aim is to promote and introduce the latest technology to places where the latest information and communication technology (ICT) advancement is difficult to reach.

“Our roadshow will allow us to reach the people in the outskirts,” she told a press conference here yesterday.

She said during the tour the company would be bringing its latest touch technology LCD and the Aspire easyStore-Home Server for the visitors to see, feel and experience.

Founded in 1976, Acer has constantly pursued the goal of breaking the barriers between people and technology.

Today, Acer ranks world’s second for notebooks, third for PCs, and has a global workforce of more than 6,000 employees.

Consisting of a family of four brands — Acer, Gateway, eMachines and Packard Bell — Acer’s unique multi-brand strategy allows each brand to offer a distinctive set of brand characteristics that target different customer needs in the global consumer and commercial PC market.

Acer Mobile Cruiser will kick start its tour in Brunei followed by Limbang, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei, Saratok, Sri Aman and Serian.

Themed ‘Experience Acer Touch’, the tour will cover nine locations with a total of 13 stops with a range of multimedia PC, netbook, and notebook, projector and LCD available for purchase.
