NEW DIRECT SHIPPING SERVICE: MV Forever Prosperity anchored at BICT of Bintulu Port.

The ship arrived here from Jakarta at 11.35am and berthed alongside BICT at 12.05pm.

The maiden call earmarked the launching of new direct shipping service by YSC Line known as Korea Indonesia Express (KIX Service) that connects BICT to several major ports within Intra Asia Trade Route.

YSC Line is one of the major container shipping lines in Korea and it was founded in May 2009.

Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd (BPSB) officers lead by senior manager for Container Terminal Division, Ir Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahab together with YSC Line representative, executive director of Polyang Shipping Sdn Bhd, Danny Ling were present at the event to receive the ship with great joy and pride.

Representatives from major shippers and agents such as Daiken Sarawak, Magna Foremost, Samling Plywood, Titimas Global, Agencies, Yong Joo Sawmill, Menwin Shipping and Majorole Shipping also attended the event.

Subsequently all the guests were invited for a welcoming party on board the grand MV Forever Prosperity.

MV Forever Prosperity together with another two vessels, MV Catena and MV Victoria Trader with a carrying capacity of 1,740 TEUs and 1,300 TEUs respectively, will serve the shipping route under KIX Service.

The routing for KIX Service are Bintulu – Hong Kong – Keelung – Pusan – Mokpo – Keelung – Hong Kong – Singapore – Jakarta. The vessel will call BICT on weekly basis with allocated window on every Friday of each week.

Aside from the port of calling, YSC Line will also accept container booking to Kobe, Osaka, Tomakomai, Akita and Nigata in Japan through Pusan. Container to South China will be transhipped via Hong Kong. The appointed agent of YSC Line in Bintulu is Polyang Shipping Sdn Bhd.

The selection of Bintulu Port in YSC Line port of call signifies its confidence in Bintulu port’s efficient service and superb container facilities delivery. There is a huge potential volume of containers that can be diverted to Bintulu Port for transhipment to the Intra Asia trade route.

BPSB will continuously improve its service and facilities to ensure that the customers receive the shortest port turnaround time as possible.

The presence of YSC Line provides more direct shipping connectivity via Bintulu Port and  will give extra options for shippers in East Malaysia in selecting  main line operators for the logistics arrangement of their cargo, said BPSB in a press statement yesterday.
