Man detained with drugs worth RM200,000

KUALA LUMPUR:  Police detained a suspected drug trafficker in Jalan Alor here two days ago and seized Syabu and heroin worth RM200,000.Kuala Lumpur Narcotic CID chief ACP Kang Chez Chiang said the man was believed to have been active trafficking drugs in the Klang Valley and Selangor since five months ago.

“The suspect who operates alone receives orders by phone and then meet buyers at certain locations,” he told a press conference at his office here yesterday.

Kang said 102g of syabu and 2,231g of heroin were found in the 30 year-old suspect’s sling bag. The suspect who had a criminal record tested positive for methamphetamine.

He was remanded seven days to assist investigation.

The case was investigated under section 39B, Dange-rous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Meanwhile, a series of police raids on Jan 6 in Gom-bak and Setapak led to the detention of ten men and a woman and seizure of drugs worth RM5,000. — Bernama
