KUCHING: Sarawak-born singer, Nur Azwa Joseph @ Katerina, stage-named as Kate and her music partner, Nor Ali Hussain or better known as Alie, who formed a live band named Axis, will be making their maiden performance at The Rajang Lobby Lounge of Grand Margherita Hotel here.Both of them have performed for more than 10 years in various hotel lounge circuits all over Malaysia. They complement each other beautifully on stage as they share a common interest and commitment in music, although they have been performing together for only two years.
The pair will entertain patrons with their wide repertoire of well known and popular songs. Meanwhile, Kate, is a Kenyah and was born in Miri but grew up in West Malaysia.
Her stint with her partner, Alie, here marked her first time performing in Sarawak.
An accomplished lead vocalist, Kate stumbled upon this profession by chance in 1999 when a resident band member was impressed with her voice while working at a lounge.
On the other hand, Alie, is the vocalist-guitarist and plays the music sequencer and has been described by many reviewers as ‘The Voice with a Heart’ and has a fresh approach and style of his own.
Thus, for those who love the nostalgic ballads and the melody of their younger days, they can listen to the music delivered by Axis during their performance at The Rajang Lobby Lounge.
Axis will be performing at The Rajang Lobby Lounge of Grand Margherita Hotel every night, except Mondays, from 8.45 pm onwards. The Happy Hours at the hotel starts from 4 pm to 9 pm daily.
Since its soft opening after the major makeover, the Rajang Lobby Lounge has been lining up a series of new attractions to cater to patrons from all categories.
The Rajang Lobby Lounge currently opens its door as early as 10 am and serves as a good venue for those who prefer a quiet discussion between associates or for those who want to simply enjoy a light snack and drinks during the day.
With its elegant and modern setting, the Rajang Lobby Lounge acts as the perfect place to host cocktail receptions, small gatherings or events. It has also expanded its beverage list to include a fine selection of coffee and tea specialties in its ‘Barista Coffee’ menu.
Hence, patrons can walk into the lounge during its opening hours to enjoy a fresh cup of hot, cold or blended drinks. For the health conscious, fruit smoothies are also available.
Additionally, the lounge currently features an exclusive ‘Oyster and Champagne Brunch’ on every Sunday until January 31 from 11 am to 2 pm. Patrons can also look forward to more interesting promotions soon.
