Sabah agrees to set nine Key Result Areas

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Cabinet has agreed to set nine Key Result Areas for the state to improve performance and results, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said yesterday.He said, they included switching to activities with higher-added value, strengthening private sector investment, poverty reduction, balanced socio-economic distribution and a more innovative and effective government delivery service.

“This is aimed at improving management and government performance,” he said at a monthly assembly of the chief minister’s department and state finance ministry at the Banquet Hall of the State Assembly Building here yesterday.

Musa, who is also finance minister, urged all deparments and state development agencies to continuously improve efficiency and coordination to ensure development projects were implemented effectively.

He said the effectiveness of social development programmes depended on a good financial management system.

Musa also called on civil servants, especially those in management and financial administration, to ensure that each sen spent on development reached the target group.

He said the state-level government transformation programme would be launched tomorrow. — Bernama
