Teacher claims trial to outraging of modesty

SIBU: A school teacher charged with outraging the modesty of his four pupils five years ago was brought to the magistrates’ court in Mukah yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty.He was released on RM5,000 bail with two sureties.

The 34-year-old was also ordered to deposit RM1,000 in the form of a fixed deposit bank certificate with the court.

He is to appear in the Mukah magistrates’ court again on March 11 to answer all four charges against him.

In the first charge, he allegedly intended to outrage the modesty of a 12-year-old pupil at a school quarters on Aug 30, 2005 at about 7.30am.

The second charge states he intended to outrage the modesty of a 10-year-old pupil in June 2005 at 2.30pm at the same quarters.

He allegedly did the same to another 10-year-old pupil sometime in August the same year at about 7.30am at the same quarters.

The fourth charge said he committed the same offence on another 10-year-old on Aug 30 the same year at the same place.

The teacher allegedly ordered the pupils to strip off their clothing before proceeding to outrage their modesty.

The pupils’ parents filed a report against him at the Stapang police on Sept 3, 2005.

He was arrested on the same day at the quarters.
