He was awarded the Smart Entrepreneur Award (Individual category) and the Gold Winner (Corporation category) at the Second Global Award for steering his company to  greater heights at a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The humble and ambitious entrepreneur has visions for the company to achieve another spectacular milestone, a  listing on Bursa Malaysia, perhaps in the next five years.

The Borneo Post was given the privilege to interview Aziz for his comments and feelings after he received his prestigious awards.

“I am delighted to receive such a wonderful award  of achievement, particularly from the Global Award. The award will help to create awareness of our company and its products .

“It will help the company in terms of better business exploration and expansion, long-term image building, introduction to foreign markets and increase the awareness of our presence in the local market as well as abroad,” he said after receiving the awards at the Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel on Sunday evening.

When asked on the outlook of the company’s operations within the next five years from now, Aziz was confident that the company will be able to move ahead and achieve more breakthroughs.

He foresaw that the company might even set up a manufacturing plant in Malaysia to market its innovative technology for flexible pavements to a broad range of commercial, government and industrial clients throughout Malaysia.

“At the moment, we import our products from overseas and yet our price is still competitive when we talk about project costings. When the quantities reach a certain target annually, we might considering planning to build our factory in Malaysia.

“With the revenue that we have at the moment, perhaps in five year’s time, I plan to get this company listed, and then start thinking about retirement.

“Besides that, we are also open to the opportunity of engaging in joint ventures with existing local cement plant producing companies that can manufacture and produce our own Malaysian made Geo Crete or Infracrete powder, (a raw material mixed with cement used in constructing roads) that can be used locally and then exported to other countries in South East Asia and East Asia regions,” he revealed.

“We applaud and support the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s call for innovation and the use of advance technology and methods in carrying out projects to produce better quality works. We also hope that all the senior engineers in the public sector support this transformation too.

“We can work together and lead the way to share and achieve this same objective,” he said.

To a question on the company’s philosophy, vision and mission, Aziz explained that, the company has laid out a long-term sustainability plan to ensure that it performs to expectations and serves the community.

“Geo Crete, as a construction company, has always aimed at making contributions to society by building communities. We have been diversifying our operations in accordance with trends in social attitudes and values as well as changes in customers’ needs, he explained.

“We are working hard to meet the environmental challenges of the new millennium. Our works include conducting proprietary research that will be vital in this new era, research into preserving air, water and soil quality and combining this with engineering technology in a continuing effort to protect the environment.

‘We have also been making proposals that would improve the quality of life of the inhabitants whilst preserving the natural environment, he added.

“Our goal is to provide the highest possible level of professional construction services for our clients in an atmosphere of mutual support, teamwork and uncompromising ethical standards.

“Anchored by our loyal local employees who are dedicated to provide superior service, we are grounded in the philosophy that honesty and integrity are as important as the bottomline, he pointed out.

“We enjoy the privilege of providing quality old-fashioned service while using the latest technologies for our customers. We are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their construction objectives within budget and in a professional and timely manner, he said.

The dedicated CEO envisages that Geo Crete will become a major branded soil stabilisation supplier and construction company in Malaysia.
