KUALA LUMPUR: Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said yesterday the new chairman of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) will be known soon.

He said the list of candidates had been submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the knowledge of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“God willing, His majesty will decide soon and I will receive his feedback,” he told reporters after launching the book, ‘Najib Razak A Sense of Mission’, written by Ismail Noor, at the National Library here yesterday.
Asked about the list, he said: “There are several people but it’s not appropriate for me to mention them.” Datuk Seri Mohamad Annuar Zaini ended his service as Bernama’s ninth chairman on Jan 31, after serving three terms from Feb 1, 2004. — Bernama
