TAWAU: The High Court here yesterday sentenced a Filipino woman to 16 years jail after she pleaded guilty to being in possession of 74.44 grammes of methamphetamine in Lahad Datu, in April last year.Judge Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli ordered Tining Marudi, 34, to serve the sentence from the date of her arrest on April 11, 2009.
According to the facts, Tining was caught in front of the Lahad Datu police station at 12.20am that day and the drugs were found in her sling bag.
She was represented by counsel Mohamad Faidzullah while the prosecution was conducted by Amri Hamdzah Othman. — Bernama
