Senior business development manager Chan Ming Fong said TCAT, a subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd, had formed a partnership with Czech-based company Construct to market the product in the Malaysian market.

According to him, the Construct locks are premium automative locks designed by professionals in Europe.

“The product was originally designed for left-hand drive cars in Europe.

“In Malaysia, TCAT engineers worked closely with Construct to develop right-hand drive locks for the local market,” Chan said after a press launch of the product here yesterday.

The Construct Premium Vehicle Anti-Theft System is based on the principle of locking movable parts of the gear shift mechanism to the body of the vehicle.

It is a tough and robust system, utilising high grade steel and stainless steel materials, coupled with a highly advanced key cylinder.

The retail price is at RM799 for Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi vehicles and RM599 for Proton and Perodua vehicles, including installation. — Bernama
