KUCHING: AirAsia Bhd (AirAsia) will facilitate stranded passengers’ travel to and from European destinations due to the recent volcanic catastrophe by launching a special promotion from RM99 to any Asean destination, excluding taxes and fees.In its press release yesterday, it stated that the promotion was for all guests who were holding flight tickets from any airlines to Europe.

This promotion was eligible for guests who were travelling to Europe but were stranded in Malaysia and Singapore due to the current closure of air space recently.

Guests would only need to show their flight tickets at any AirAsia sales office or AirAsia Sales Counter to enjoy this promotion to any Asean destinations (except Myanmar) departing from Malaysia and Singapore.

Kathleen Tan, regional head of commercial of AirAsia said, “We’ve always been known to be the people’s airline and this is our small contribution and offer for these affected passengers.

“We came-up with this special campaign to offer these stranded passengers a special fare to some other alternative holiday destinations in Asean, hoping to make up to guests’ disappointment of their cancelled trips due to the air travel disruption in Europe.

“For those who are supposed to be heading home, you can make the most out of the trip and visit other Aseaan destinations while waiting for the normal flights to resume,” she explained.

With only RM99 one way, guests could book any flights departing from April 20 to May 23 to any Asean country including popular destinations such as Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Siam Reap, Hanoi, Phuket, Krabi and many more.

To add value, AirAsiaGo (www.airasiago.com), the new age travel portal under AirAsia was offering car hire, packaged holidays, transfers and a wide range of specialty activities.

AirAsiaGo had also lined up some online hotel deals to stretch the dollar where guests might choose their holiday lodgings from over 70,000 hotels.

Additionally, it encouraged its guests to purchase food, baggage and hot seats online to enjoy more discounts and savings through www.airasia.com.
