Preferred jobs just an SMS away via Tune Talk

KUCHING: Jobseekers attending the JobsDB Malaysia Career Expo in Kuala Lumpur next week will find that applying for their preferred jobs is just an SMS away via Tune Talk.Tune Talk, the country’s newest mobile service provider is the technology partner of ‘JobsDB Malaysia Career Expo 2010’ to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre May 7-9.

Organised by JobsDB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the event will see participation from over 100 exhibitors and about 40,000 visitors.

“All a job applicant needs to do is register at JobsDB Career Expo’s portal www.betterjobfair.com and utilise the messaging service provided by Tune Talk to submit job applications. It will make applying for a job so fast, hassle-free and fully paperless,” said CEO of Tune Talk Jason Lo in a press release issued here.

“Tune Talk has recently introduced a new super-low flat rate of 16 sen per minute to any domestic operator anytime of the day so it will be a perfect opportunity for job candidates to enjoy great savings on mobile charges while at the same time utilise our technology to apply for jobs,” added Lo.

The SMS-based job application service will be available for Tune Talk’s existing as well as new subscribers. Tune Talk starter packs will be available at a special price to new subscribers at the expo.

Meanwhile, renowned Malaysian companies like Maybank, Media Prima and PLUS Expressways as well as multinational corporations Western Digital, Walton International, Lion Group and HSBC, among others, have confirmed participation in the career fair.

“The job fair will employ state-of-the-art technology which will be the first and perhaps the only job fair that is 100 per cent paperless. Aside from the SMS-enabled application system provided by Tune Talk, the fair is utilising a proven and world-class software solution that allows for a seamless process from registration to job application. Candidates as well as participating employers can walk in and out of the job fair paperless,” added Hor.

The JobsDB Malaysia Career Expo 2010 will be the fifth in its history.

Tune Talk’s commercial service was launched on  August 19,  2009. It currently offers the lowest flat rate in the country of 16 sen per minute for voice calls and 5 sen per SMS to any domestic operator.
