KUCHING: Tonight, Kuching partygoers will witness the birth of another amazing event named the ‘Back to School Rush’ Party at Core Lounge, Travillion organised by BrandUp Sdn Bhd (BrandUp) and Core Lounge.

FOR THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT: Core Lounge’s state-of-the-art deejay console which is the best of its kind in Sarawak in addition to six LCD TVs and a projector to entertain the crowd visually with music videos.

Adhering to a dress code of school wear, this party aims to target young working adults and party revellers who have recently graduated from school, said BrandUp’s marketing manager Christopher Lau.

“The intention of this collaboration between BrandUp and Core Lounge is to allow recent graduates and those young adults who just entered the working world to come and recall memories of the more-carefree school days while having a good time,” said Lau.

“We will start at 9pm and there will be many games for the night which include Juice Rewind and Juice-C Dance,” he added.

BrandUp, a local company specialising in marketing and event planning management in Kuching highlights its party label called Juice, whereby an adherence to the party’s particular dress code is strictly followed.

Owner of Core Lounge William Ng told The Borneo Post that his club has been in operation for the past two years and was recently renovated with monochromatic colours to create an artistic display of modern flair.

“We try to create the most suitable atmosphere for dancing and enjoying oneself,” said Ng. “I can say that we have been quite successful as we are packed on most nights, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.”

“Most of the time, club attendees get bored with the same layout, designs and environment. This is the reason why I had the lounge redesigned to offer a fresh breath of clubbing environment to the Kuching party scene.”

Core which is an acronym for ‘Centre Of Real Entertainment’ is divided to a few main sections namely the exterior area, interior grounds and the upper VIP rooms.

“Unlike most clubs here at Travillion, our bar is also open to the outside area. This is done to support the more-laid back patrons who wish to take a breather from the active dance floor as they need not enter the club to purchase drinks.”

Ng noted that he was in the process of engaging various deejays from all over the world such as Kuala Lumpur and Amsterdam to host further exhilarating parties at Core Lounge.

In addition to the state-of-the-art deejay console which is the best of its kind in Sarawak, Ng stated that there were six LCD TVs and a projector to entertain the crowd visually with music videos.

The music selection provided at Core Lounge includes R&B, tribal, house and so on, depending on the atmosphere and the kind of crowd the night has.

Lau noted that the Kuching scene sees many parties being held but as to whether those parties are a success depends on the atmosphere set by the management.

“Once a partygoer decides to come with slack clothing, the atmosphere is affected. Other party revellers will start to feel that their efforts go unappreciated and we don’t want that to happen,” he added.

“This is why we place emphasis on attire, because it is crucial to setting the mood for a party.”
