KUCHING: AirAsia Bhd’s (AirAsia) ‘Free Seats Promotion’ returns with one million free seats offered for more destinations across the low-cost carrier’s extensive network of over 130 routes in 20 countries.

In a release yesterday, it stated that the routes also included the new India destinations, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam and China.

The promotion would offer all-in fares from as low as RM6, as guests would only have to pay the airport tax from Kuala Lumpur to destinations such as Johor Bahru, Alor Setar, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi, Penang and others.

For international routes, the all-in fares would be from as low as RM25.

The booking period for the ‘Free Seats Promotion’ would be from May 18 to May 23 with the travel period from January 3 to May 8 next year. With limited seats, it would only be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations should be made exclusively online via www.airasia.com and mobile.airasia.com.

In addition to these, AirAsia would also be offering super low all-in fares from RM49 to destinations such as Bali, Hanoi, Haikou, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, while its ‘Kangaroo Routes’ in Australia such as Gold Coast and Perth would be available from RM149 and Melbourne from RM199.

For travellers planning for a European getaway, they could opt for the route to London from as low as RM699. There would also be flights to Indian cities of New Delhi or Mumbai from as low as RM199.

On these long-haul routes, guests would get to experience the new comfortable flatbed ‘Premium seats’ on AirAsia X’s brand new A330 and A340 aircraft, which feature standard business class specifications of 20-inch width, 60-inch pitch and stretch-out to 77-inch in full recline position.

These seats will also be equipped with universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray tables, drink holders, reading lights and privacy screens.

AirAsia’s regional head of commercial Kathleen Tan said, “We’ve received many enquiries on AirAsia’s social platforms on our ‘Free Seats Promotion.’ We’re delighted to announce that this promo is the best opportunity for guests to maximise on our extensive route network to travel to more places with our amazing low fares.
