KUCHING: A school teacher lost RM750 in cash to two snatch thieves who took her purse after she stopped on the roadside on Thursday.
It the 5.30pm incident, the teacher, in her 30s, had stopped her car near an ATM machine in Kenyalang Park to withdraw money for her monthly car instalment payment.
She said she was in the car replying to a text message on her handphone when the rear door was suddenly opened.
She turned around to see an unknown man reach into her car to grab her purse on the rear seat and then escaped with an accomplice on a motorcycle.
The incident, she said, happened so fast that she was unable to see the licence plate number of the getaway bike.
Except for RM50, the rest of the money belonged to her students. It was for paying for the printing of their class photograph.
A police report on the incident has been lodged.
