Stompin Sabah a huge success

KOTA KINABALU: A rainy Saturday evening did not dampen the fans from attending and being a part of the unique performance as well as the presentation of the original style of music in Stompin Sabah 2010 held at Jesselton Point.

The musical event held for the second time was strongly supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and City Hall.   This time around the audience were treated to experience the uniqueness of the combined urban music with nature-inspired music live on stage.

The opening saw a rendition from Shawn Lee’s ‘beat boxing’ alongside MC Vibe and Toi of Akademi Fantasia 6 who played the ‘angklung’.

Famed guitarists, Joe Wings and Man Kidal who enacted their ‘battle of the guitar’ received a thunderous response from more than 500 fans.  And for the first time, the event introduced a talented local guitarist Dicken of Ranau to the musical scene.

Ella the queen of rock stunned the audience with her energetic performance and she would be remembered by those who sang along with her during the night.

The event which ended early Sunday morning saw the combination of a local deejay Tony and an international artiste, Wicked Aura Batucada of Singapore as masters of ceremony.

Stompin Sabah will be back in Kota Kinabalu next year with the promise of  top rated artistes from Korea, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
