KOTA KINABALU: The state government’s stand is clear following the decision of department concerned in rejecting the EIA report on the proposed 300-megawatt coal-fired plant in Lahad Datu, according to Datuk Masidi Manjun.

“It depends on Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to appeal for another report, but to my knowledge, there is no appeal so far,” the Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister said in response to the Sabah Environmental Protection Association (SEPA) president Wong Tack request for a clear stand from the state government on the project.

“A decision has been made where the EIA was rejected and the state government will follow the decision,” Masidi said after opening the Riivo Unique Home Deco and Furniture at Karamunsing Capital, yesterday.
