SANDAKAN: Newly-elected Batu Sapi Member of Parliament Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin was back in her constituency for the first time yesterday since being sworn into office, to meet and thank her constituents for their support which led to her victory in the Nov 4 by-election.

She visited six markets in the constituency to personally thank the constituents.

In the by-election, Tsen obtained 9,773 votes in a three-cornered fight with Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Ansari Abdullah, who secured 3,414 votes, and Datuk Yong Teck Lee, of the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), who garnered 2,031 votes.

Tsen was sworn in on Nov 9, taking over from her husband Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah, the former MP, who was killed in a road accident in Kota Kinabalu on Oct 9.

Tsen, when met by reporters, said she would fulfill her responsibilities as best as she could for the interests of all the people in her constituency.

“Whatever their problems, I will do my best to help them,” she added. – Bernama
