MIRI: Some 1,000 books about the Foochow community, with two titles namely – Taste and Flavour of Foochow and Pioneer Trail of Foochow – will be on sale today during the Foochow Cultural Exhibition from 10am until 11.30am, at the lobby of Mega Hotel.
Taste and Flavour of Foochow, featuring various traditional cuisine, is expected to sell very well, and is priced at RM18 per copy.
Pioneer Trail of Foochow, the other book on offer at the exhibition is sold at RM20. Interested members of the public can aquire it for their history collection.
This exhibition is in conjunction with Foochow tripple celebrations of World Federation of Fuzhou Association Ltd’s 20th anniversary, The Federation of Foochow Associations of Malaysia’s 50th anniversary and Federation of Foochow Associations of Sarawak’s 30th anniversary.
President of World Federation of Fuzhou Associations, Tan Sri Datuk Jimmy Lau will be the guest of honour at the launching of the two books.
In addition, members of the public would also have an opportunity to see various exhibits and artifacts of interest during the exhibition. Exhibits include priceless ancient relics of the Foochows such as a wooden suitcase, rice jars, chopsticks, rattan baskets, antique vases and many others.
