SIBU: A 21-year-old man accused of raping an underage girl was arrested at Sibu Gateway at 8pm on Friday after a police report was lodged by her mother.
The suspect who works as a cook in Kampung Hilir was said to have befriended the 14-year-old girl only two days before.
Last Thursday the man offered the girl a ride on his motorcycle in town.
After riding around town, he took the girl to his rented home at Apollo Road where he allegedly raped her.
The next day, the girl told her mother about the incident and together they lodged a report.
The police are investigating the case.
