‘Resitting for Bahasa Melayu Paper 2 only a rumour’

PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry has refuted a rumour that Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2010 examination candidates may have to sit again for their Bahasa Melayu Kertas 2 which was set for Nov 23.

Education director-general Datuk Abd Ghafar Mahmud said in a statement here yesterday that based on the investigation conducted by the Malaysian Examination Board, the test for the subject was valid and that candidates who sat for the paper needed not sit for it again.

“Parents should not believe the baseless rumour. I also suggest that they not worry about the matter as the Education Ministry was always taking measures to ensure the validity of all examinations conducted, as well as their quality and standard,” he said.

Abd Ghafar said the SPM examination which started on Nov 23 and would end on Dec 20, had been going on smoothly as scheduled.
