KUALA LUMPUR:  Lt-Col (Rtd) Husin Jazri, CyberSecurity Malaysia chief executive officer, is optimistic about Malaysia’s prospects as a global player in the information security industry.

“Malaysia has a lot of strategic advantage because of the education system that we have.

Our graduates are not only trained in Malaysia, but also from various countries like Australia, the United States, Britain, South Korea and Japan,” he said.

“The main issue is how many trainees do we have now and how many trainees do we need more,” he told reporters at the CyberSecurity Malaysia luncheon with the media yesterday.

Husin said the good relationship with countries across the world will help Malaysia to be one of the global players in the industry.

“We have good relations with Asian countries and also trusted and reliable partners among western nations.

“At the same time, Malaysia also enjoys the trust of the Islamic world as they look up to Malaysia as a leader, especially in technological areas,” he added.

Husin said technological superiority and trust were the two major elements that are important to be a global player in the information security industry.
