According to the 22-year-old Naza driver, a university student from Peninsular Malaysia, he was heading to Air Asia, with his sister, niece and nephew to purchase air tickets when the incident happened.

“I was driving on the right lane and suddenly I saw him running to cross the road.

“I tried to swerve to the left but there was another vehicle so I braked to avoid hitting him but it was too late,” said the driver.

It was also learnt that the driver and his family members were flying back to Kuala Lumpur around 7.30pm the same day.

The public who came to the man’s aid then called an ambulance which arrived shortly and brought the man to the Likas Hospital.
