BINTULU: A 27-year-old man was found hanged from the bar of a door in his Kampung Baru house on Friday.
CAREFULLY: Police and family members place the body on a stretcher.
Family members found his body in a first floor room around 8pm with a rope around his neck.
The victim was married and had a three-year-old son.
His 33-year-old widow said prior to the incident, he had a drink in the kitchen and they had shared a normal conversation.
She said her husband, who was a labour at a construction site, did not disclose anything out of the ordinary or speak of any problems.
“He never said any unusual thing to me during that time,” she said, adding that she had been praying at a surau nearby when she heard the news.
One of the seven family members who share the house, identified only as Anai, said he was playing with the deceased’s son when his wife went upstairs.
She found the deceased and immediately informed him.
Hoping the deceased was still alive, Anai and his wife untied the rope but found it was too late.
They later called the police and the body was sent to the Bintulu Hospital for a post-mortem.
