SIBU: The St Elizabeth’s Old Students’ Association (SEOSA) will be launching its Education Fund during the association’s 2010 annual dinner cum New Year’s gathering scheduled to be held at 6.30pm on Dec 31 at Kingwood Hotel.

According to the president of SEOSA, Teresa Lau, they were targeting to raise a sum of RM30,000 for the Education Fund that would be given as a form of study incentives to top achievers of SEOSA members’ children.

“SEOSA will also extend similar study incentives to the deserving SMK St Elizabeth poor students who have excelled in their studies,” she said.

Teresa was speaking to the media during a press conference held after a courtesy call on the patron of SEOSA, Temenggong Vincent Lau Lee Ming at his office here yesterday.

During the visit, Teresa also handed over the official invitation to Vincent Lau as guest of honour to the function.

Teresa called on all former students of SMK St Elizabeth wherever they might be to join the New Year’s gathering.

“It would be wonderful; the more joining the gathering the merrier, memorable and meaningful it will be. The theme for the gathering is ‘Floral Nite of SEOSA’.

“Those who will be joining are kindly requested to turn up in their favourite flowery outfit,” she added with a broad smile.

Teresa explained to become members of SEOSA cost only RM30 for whole life membership.

“The evening will be made much more merrier if all the retired SMK St Elizabeth principals and teachers could join the gathering,” she added.

Meanwhile, the tickets for the gathering are now available at RM35 per head, either from the organising chairlady, Elizabeth Tang (012-8871038) or Teresa (019-8191138).

The SEOSA committee members Eta Ting and Wendy Hii were also present.
