KOTA KINABALU: Youth Sabah and Reliable Advertisement with the cooperation of Kota Kinabalu City Hall will hold a Karaoke Suara Retro and Battle of the Band competitions in conjunction with the Youthtown KK Carnival and New Year celebration at City Square on December 29.
The organising bureau spokesman, Syed Kamalrul Sufian, said the participation is open to amateur singers and musicians who have never signed any contract with any recording company.
Syed said that those who want to participate in the competition can obtain an application form either from the Apple Studio Production located at Asia City or through the page of Rock Selamba on Facebook.
“We offer prizes up to RM5,000, trophies and certificates,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Special appearances by pop rock singers of the 80s’ and 90’s including Aan, a former vocalist of Ways and Sabahan rock artiste Nadia will make the event more exciting.
Nadia who has kept silent for over 10 years, is expected to render her killer song entitled ‘Salam Untuk Kekasih’.
Sabahan onlinefm DJ Black and DJ Lanjau will compere the event.
Syed said that members of the public are invited to come to the three-day end of the year event and various activities had been arranged to make the event exciting.
