GEORGE TOWN: Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) yesterday asked the police to immediately investigate the alleged threats its leaders have received over the past year.

Its political secretary, Dr Chin Wee Loon, said yesterday this was to avert any untoward incident involving party members.

“I hope the police can carry out an immediate investigation as many of the party members have received similar threats. We want to ensure the safety of our members,” he told a press conference here.

On Sunday, PCM special action team chief Tham Weng Fatt was reportedly warned by two men in their 40s not to interfere in the administration of the DAP-led government in Penang or something bad would happen to him.

Tham, who is a former Penang DAP task force chief, then lodged a report at the Jalan Patani police station here. — Bernama
