SIBU: A 21-year-old youth was hospitalised after the car he was in collided with a lorry at a traffic light junction in Tunku Abdul Rahman Road here on Wednesday around 10pm.
The injured, identified only as Hu, was on his way home to Permai Timur when hit by the 30-something lorry driver, travelling on the opposite direction from town.
Hu sustained injuries on his forehead and left arm while the lorry driver escaped unhurt.
Hu was sent to the hospital and was admitted.
Meanwhile, an off-duty police officer spotted three suspicious characters at a construction site in Bunga Dahlia Road at 8.30pm recently, and summoned a patrol team.
They managed to catch two of the men while the other one escaped.
The two told police they had intended to steal iron bars.
