KUCHING: A 13-year-old boy required two stitches to close a wound on his head after he was attacked by a man for allegedly being ill-mannered on Thursday.

The incident happened around 7pm in Kampung Gita when the teen encountered a 20-something man while making his way to a sundry shop near his house.

The boy’s mother told reporters the man had accused her son of being ‘kurang ajar’ (ill-mannered) before slamming the youngster’s head against a padlock attached to the door of a shop house.

She added she was shocked when her son arrived back home with a gash on his head and his shirt covered in blood and immediately brought him to hospital for treatment.

According to her, she knew the identity of the person responsible and said he was a ‘bully’ from Kampung Tabuan Melayu who frequently stayed over at a relative’s house in Kampung Gita.

“If he said my son was ‘kurang ajar’, then leave it to me to ‘ajar’ my child. I don’t need his ‘help’,” she said.
