KOTA KINABALU: Three foreign women were arrested by police for involvement in prostitution around the state capital.
City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said the women, aged between 27 and 29, were arrested during an operation on Jan 25 around 11pm.
“During the raid, police found used and unused condoms in their possession,” he told reporters at a press conference at the city police station yesterday.
Sofi said the suspects would be investigated under Section 372 of the Penal Code and Section 39 (b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.
“I thank the public for providing such information to the police and we will continue to monitor places where we believe such negative activities are being carried out,” he said.
