SANDAKAN: The State Library of Sandakan organised a Pro-Magic for Beginners workshop yesterday.
MAGIC WORKSHOP: Participants ready and eager to learn magic and tricks.
The workshop was conducted and facilitated by Charlston Lau Wai Khien.
The workshop was divided into two categories comprising of adults and children.
Eighteen children aged between eight and 12 years old participated in the workshop in the morning session while 20 adults attended the afternoon session.
“This magic workshop was the first of its kind held in Sandakan,” Charlston said.
After attending the course, the participants would have learned and grasped the basic magical theories and would be able to do some amazing tricks.
For the younger participants, they would have found a new social skill, built up their confidence, made new acquaintances besides being involved in a brand new and healthy hobby.
The magic tricks learned by the participants included the french drop, the elusive straws, the small change anytime, the pencil puzzlers, the self folding money and the changing of useless receipts into cash.
Carlston, 29, who is a full-time entertainer and magician will conduct a magic seminar in Kota Kinabalu today.
