CM and wife on CNY visit in Bintulu

BINTULU: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Puan Sri Ragad Waleed Al-Kurdi Taib paid a Chinese New Year visit to the residence of Pemanca Barry Yek Siew Hui at Gloria Park, Bintulu-Miri road yesterday.

The arrival of the chief minister and delegates was greeted with a lion dance.

While joking and interacting with guests, Taib said: “This is my first Chinese New Year visit in Bintulu.”

Accompanying the chief minister and his wife were both deputy chief ministers, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan and Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang.

Also there were Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Assistant Minister of Public Utilities and Public Health Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Sarawak United People’s Party Bintulu branch chairman Henry Ling Kuong Meng, Bintulu Resident Ismail Mohd Hanis, Bintulu District officer Tuah Suni, other dignitaries and local Chinese community leaders.
