PETALING JAYA: The business community must capitalise on available facilities and services to drive business forward with sustainable performance, competitiveness and development, says International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
He said the government was looking forward to a stronger public-private tie-up towards sustainable economic performance.
“We certainly need a radical change in our business approach as it contributes to development that is sustainable over the long run.
“The government is supportive of expanding our networking and developing collaborative learning space to build our innovative competence acquisition and development,” he said when opening the Enterprise Creanova Integrated Solution (ECIS) seminar here yesterday.
With the huge market opportunities in Asia, Mustapa said it has become crucial for Malaysia to capitalise on the wealth of creativity and innovation among Malaysians to realise the Vision 2020 target.
“There will be much learning and adaptation (to do) as we execute the Economic Transformation Programme’s roadmap to ensure we reach our expectations,” he said.
The ECIS was organised by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) with the objective to support local enterprises by providing a one-stop solution to facilitate productivity and innovation enhancement.
It is also to showcase role models and knowledge on productivity and innovation and attract companies to engage with MPC programmes.
“ECIS is another key initiative by the MPC to continuously inculcate creativity and innovation in our daily activities.
“It is also aimed at complementing the various government initiatives that have been promoted to mobilise Malaysians to embrace and enhance creativity and innovative skills,” added Mustapa. — Bernama
