Gobalakrishnan continues to attack former leader

KUALA LUMPUR: Padang Serai MP N Gobalakrishnan, speaking for the first time as an Independent, continued his attack yesterday of his former leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said he was still paying monthly insurance for two cars used by Anwar’s personal bodyguards although he had left Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

“Until today, I still pay for two cars. I can have an assistant for RM2,000 but I have to sacrifice to pay for the cars of the bodyguards so that our future Prime Minister is safe,” Gobalakrishnan told the Dewan Rakyat.

“But until today, the office of the opposition leader does not want to take any initiative to correct this situation. In fact, a car of mine has been repossessed,” he said during the debate on the motion to thank the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for the royal address.

Gobalakrishnan said he felt free now that he had become an Independent MP, with no need to give talks and spread lies for the opposition.

“Now I am Independent, I don’t have to go lecturing and slandering every day, and I have time to prepare my text (for the debate),” Gobalakrishnan said.

“After 12 years (in politics), I have finally become Independent, breathing the air and feeling free, sitting in this honourable house, feeling truly free before Tan Sri (Pandikar Amin Mulia, the speaker).”

Gobalakrishnan said that Anwar had told him that if he disagreed with him on party matters, he could leave PKR and join the MIC.

“It was not just once he told me this. The Permatang Pauh member told me that if I disagree, go join MIC. Today, I am out of PKR for no reason other than that I am an honourable human being, and pious,” he said.

He urged Machang MP Saifuddin Nasution, who is PKR secretary-general, to investigate alleged misappropriation of millions of ringgit by the party leadership. — Bernama
