96 Dalat Resettlement Scheme villagers receive TOL

DALAT: Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datin Fatimah Abdullah yesterday presented 96 Temporary Occupational Licence (TOL) to villagers involved in the Dalat Resettlement Scheme.

In her speech at the presentation ceremony organised by Land and Survey Department Mukah, Fatimah called on the recipients not to sell their TOLs for quick monetary benefit.

Instead she advised them to build a decent house to accommodate their children and family members over many generations.

Fatimah also confirmed that TOL holders can apply for financial assistances from Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) through the state government, to build a house and also to pay for the land premium.

She further disclosed that as at end of last year, SPNB received 501 applications from Dalat district under Rumah Mesra Rakyat programme, all of which are still pending approval.

In this regards, Fatimah called on the applicants to wait patiently as this matter also involved availability of fund and large number of applicants throughout Malaysia.

Dalat Resettlement Scheme offers a total of about 260 lots for residential houses within Dalat district in addition to two other schemes – Kampung Kuala Oya Resettlement Scheme offering 69 housing lots and Kampung Penat, Oya Extension Scheme offering 95 housing lots.

Touching on politics, Fatimah who is also Dalat assemblywoman called on voters to support Barisan Nasional (BN) in this forthcoming election to enjoy continuous development, progress and prosperity in years to come.

In his welcoming speech, Land and Survey Department Mukah superintendent Unus Tambi disclosed that another 70 more TOLs under Dalat Resettlement Scheme are open for application beginning from April next month.

Unus also confirmed that his department would not recognise any transactions over TOL except transfers between TOL holders and their legitimate children as well as transactions approved by the government.

The function was also attended by SAO Abdul Malik Hashim (representing Dalat District officer), Dalat district police chief DSP Martin Kho, Pemanca Henry Eli Berangai and several community leaders.
