KUCHING: Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) launched a charity fund yesterday to assist Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.

The fund raising activity was to lighten the earthquake and tsunami victims’ burden and to provide relief from more difficulties.

A release issued yesterday also said the activity was to educate the students to have the spirit of sharing and caring towards the society.

Although their contributions were minimal but at least it meant a lot to show that PKS members do care about others and also concerned about global issues.

All PKS departments and units participated in the fund raising programme where the donation boxes were placed at counter, library, canteen and many other places.

PKS alumni were also being urged to support the event as donations would be collected until March 25.
