LAHAD DATU: A quarters and a shop at Kampung Teluk Soaion, Jalan Silam here were destroyed in a fire yesterday morning.
District Fire and Rescue Department operation officer Abu Bakar Bin Taraji said his department received a distress call at 3.10am.
“We sent one fire engine and four personnel led by Ridwan Muhammad Taib to the scene and arrived around 3.40am,” he said.
“The fire was put under control 30 minutes later and we managed to completely extinguish it on 6.24am,” he added.
According to Abu Bakar, no casualties were reported and he thanked the volunteer firefighters for helping to control the blaze.
He added his department was still investigating
the cause of the fire and losses.
