KOTA KINABALU: Fire destroyed six wooden houses yesterday at Kampung Inanam Laut, near the bus terminal in Inanam.
Fire and Rescue Department administration assistant Mohamad Nor Amit said they received a distress call at 5.59pm and sent 25 personnel in four fire trucks from Lintas and Sembulan to the scene.
The team, led by state operation officer Henry Goliong, brought the fire under control by 6.44pm, he said, adding that the cause and losses had yet to be determined.
It was also not immediately known how many people were affected by the fire, but the victims are believed to be mostly locals.
