SEREMBAN: A security guard was almost killed when robbers used a container lorry to knock into the security van he was driving at Lorong Senawang 2/3, Senawang Industrial Park in a daring robbery at 11.45am.

According to Seremban deputy police chief Supt.

Mohd Yusoff Awang, the security guard who escaped with minor injuries however, could not prevent the robbers from carting away semiconductor items worth almost RM500,000 from the van.

“After knocking into the van, head-on, three men from a car that was trailing the van, rushed to the van with parang and forced the security guard to surrender,” he told Bernama when contacted.

The three robbers and the driver of the lorry later transferred the semi-conductor products to their car before escaping, leaving the lorry behind.

He added that though the security guard was armed with a gun, he could not use his weapon because the incident happened unexpectedly.

Mohd Yusoff said the ‘staged’ accident and the robbery happened just meters away from the semiconductor factory where the van was heading. — Bernama
