MIRI: SUPP president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam said DAP is bent on toppling him in Piasau constituency.
Dr Chan said this when handing over aid to a family who lost their home to a fire in Tudan yesterday.
“DAP is all out to discredit me including spreading lies to win the Piasau seat, “ he told members of the press.
According to him, DAP is waging a psychological warfare. He warned the people in Piasau of the opposition’s smear campaign to win support as the election got nearer.
The incumbent for Piasau advised aspiring candidates: “Campaign in a gentlemanly way and stop the smearing campaign.”
Dr Chan visited the family members of Jekin @ Atit Ami whose house in Tudan was destroyed in a fire Wednesday night.
He made a personal donation and assured the victims that the Welfare Department and government agencies would help them rebuild the house.
Miri Welfare Department handed the victims RM2,500 to buy building materials while SUPP Senadin chipped in to help rebuild their house.
Also present was Communications and Sports Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
