SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has disclosed that two faces were detected in the recording of a hidden camera which was placed at his office last August.

He said the footage reviewed by a private investigator and state government staff showed that the duo were replacing batteries in the camera when the incident occurred.

“Experts who examined the recordings found that the two faces were detected when they were fixing the camera.

“Upon examining the recordings closely, the sound recorder that was built into the hidden camera revealed a man’s name, ‘Fais’,” he told reporters after attending the Selangor State Assembly sitting near here yesterday.

Abdul Khalid however, said he had yet to see the footage and wanted to give experts ample time to complete their investigation into the matter.

He said no police report would be made at the moment as the state government wanted to investigate the incident first.

In August, last year, the menteri besar disclosed that a hidden Fuji camera which recorded his activities, was discovered in his office.

He said he detected the camera on a ledge behind the curtains in his office when its battery supply ran low and he heard a noise.

Commenting on another matter, Abdul Khalid dismissed the state opposition’s claim that Selangor’s revenue had been in deficit.

He said the state had made a surplus of more than RM124 million last year, as compared to RM65.9 million in 2009.

Abdul Khalid, who is also Ijok assemblyman, stated that the Selangor finance department reported that its revenue account posted at year-end revealed that Selangor had RM732.2 million last year as compared to RM608.1 million in 2009, which was
an increase of 24.3 per cent instead.

It was reported that Sungai Burong assemblyman Mohd Shamsuddin Lias had rapped the state government for a 26.3 per cent dip in revenue collection of RM1.3 billion last year, as compared to RM1.764 billion in 2009. — Bernama
