KANGAR: Following flash floods since Tuesday, 14 schools in Perlis have remained closed while four others are used as flood relocation centres.
Education deputy director-general Dr Zahri Aziz said the closure involved 4,500 students, 487 teachers and 137 non-academic staff.
The schools would resume operation when the situation improved, he told reporters after visiting one of the affected schools, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Syed Hassan.
State education department director Mansor Lat accompanied Dr Zahri during the visit. — Bernama
