Awg Bemee: Govt will look after civil servants, pensioners

SIBU: The government will always make sure that the welfare of all the civil servants, whether they are still in service or already pensioned, will be well looked after.

The incumbent for Nangka, Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah stressed that, this is because the government appreciates the precious contribution by every civil servant including the pensioners from the civil service.

“As a pensioner from the civil service, we will always play our important role in the nation’s development agenda even though we have pensioned,” he said when speaking at the earth breaking ceremony for the Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Sibu Branch here, yesterday.

The building of the Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Sibu Branch will be build on a piece of land contributed by the government located at a junction between Kampung Hilir Road/ Kampung Nangka Road / Awang Ramli Amit Road. The incumbent for Pelawan Vincent Goh Chung Siong, the ex-presdient of Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Saidi Wahie and the chairman of Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Sibu Branch Awang Ali Basah Pengiran Kerta were also present.

Bemee who is also the advisor of the Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Sibu branch said, the government pensionsers should also help to make sure that what the government has done for the people will be upheld, particularly in the aspects of development.

“This is very important as to make sure no one be allowed to destroy all these for the sake of achieving their political gain,” he said.
