NEW DELHI: Pakistani customs officers seized four kilogrammes of psychotropic party drug ‘ice’ (Syabu) from a Malaysian teacher when he froze upon being quizzed over the contents of his luggage at the Jinnah Karachi International Airport.

The 25-year-old suspect from Penang was nabbed on Wednesday when he allegedly tried to smuggle the drug to Malaysia.

Bernama learnt that the man’s fidgeting demeanour which resulted in him freezing upon being questioned on his luggage, was all the authorities needed to become suspicious over his motives.

The customs officials decided to check his luggage and found the drug, also known as crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride, concealed inside.

The crystalline substances were neatly packed in two polythene bags that were concealed in the suspect’s specially built two-layered suitcase.

The man was believed to be heading to his hometown Penang via Kuala Lumpur from Karachi. – Bernama
