KOTA KINABALU: TVi or “TV Interaktif”, a new channel which will be launched on April 10 will be a good platform through which the Government can disseminate information to the people about its development programmes.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the State Government welcomes the new channel as 50 per cent of its content will be about activities in Sabah and Sarawak.

Musa who was met after officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony of Wisma Bakisa here yesterday was asked to comment on the launching of TVi.

“We express our gratitude to the Federal Government especially the Broadcasting Department and Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim for allocating Sabah and Sarawak the slot,” he said.

According to Musa, the new channel provides a good opportunity for the State Government to inform, explain and expose the people in Sabah about its activities especially in terms of developing the state.

He added that the Government’s development programmes were not only for the urban areas but also rural areas, therefore those in the rural areas can be informed of what is happening through the new channel.

Last week, Rais said that TVi would be the news portal on what is happening in Sabah and Sarawak.
