Two motorists fined

KOTA KINABALU: Two local men were fined a total of RM1,200 by the Traffic’s Court here after they pleaded guilty to separate traffic offences.

Magistrate Norhamizah Shaiffuddin fined Martin Jaid RM700 in default three weeks in jail for driving his vehicle with an expired road tax.

The 41-year-old accused committed the offence along Jalan Tanjung Lipat here about 10.30am on Nov 6, 1998.

Meanwhile, lorry driver Jimmy Burumin was fined a total of RM1,000 for committing two traffic offences.

For the first count, he was fined RM500 in default two weeks in jail for talking on his hand phone while driving the lorry.

The offence was committed about 4.11pm on Feb 2, 2005 along Jalan Wawasan Plaza here.

On the second count of failing to produce a vocational licence, he was fined another RM500 in default two weeks in jail.

He committed the offence at the same time and place.

Chief Inspector Wilynton E. Watt prosecuted the cases.
