MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said there is bright future for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to win the hearts of Sarawak voters in the 10th state election.

Anwar, who is also the advisor to PR, said this at a press conference after chairing a closed-door meeting with PKR Miri yesterday.

“According to the mood of the people in Sarawak, I see there is a great demand for a change in the state.

“Now, it depends on the party and we have to work hard. This is because we are facing strong election machinery from federal Barisan Nasional (BN),” he remarked.

On this concern, Anwar has directed all his men to work systematically, particularly their election machinery.

Later, Anwar left the session to allow Parti Se-Islam Malaysia (PAS) – Member of Parliament for Shah Alam Khalid Samad and Elizabeth Wong, the member of Selangor state executive council in charge of Tourism, Consumer Affairs and the Environment, to handle the session.

Elizabeth who is also the Information chief of the women’s wing of PKR has introduced the party candidates to contest at three constituencies of N65 Senadin, N62 Lambir and N61 Bekenu.

For Senadin is 63-year-old Dr Michael Teo; Keadilan Youth Wing deputy chief, Zulhaidah Suboh for Lambir; while for N61 Bekenu , PKR has picked a 34-year-old Ishak Mahwi.
